Loose Horse Mobile Tack Exchange is a small, independent mobile tack store based in Albemarle County, Virginia. We specialize in tack, used English saddles, saddle fittings, and clothing and boots for riders of all ages. You can visit us at our farm in North Garden, VA, or we can bring our mobile tack store to you!
Whether you’d prefer to shop at our location or yours—or even host a unique horse-themed gathering—our goal is simple: to make your shopping and selling experience more personal (and a lot more fun).

The Ladies behind Loose Horse Mobile Tack Exchange
Loose Horse Mobile Tack Exchange was founded by Judy Berger and Kim Eastep-Blaine, two friends with deep roots in horseback riding and hands-on hard work.
Here’s how our story began: when a favorite local used tack shop closed, it left a gap in our equestrian community. To meet that need we took a different approach, creating a flexible, rider-first model that fits real life and busy schedules.
Our mobile trailer allows clients like trainers, boarders, students, and even their horses to try on multiple items at their own location before buying. This ensures riders never suffer through the long process of purchasing an item, finding out it doesn’t work, and having to return it—over and over again.
As a locally owned tack exchange serving Central Virginia, we enjoy visiting our clients’ farms and inspiring the next generation of riders. And yes, we love a good bargain almost as much as we love a good ride!
Services Designed for Equestrians
No two riders (or horses) are exactly alike. That’s why we offer a range of services built around convenience, quality, and real-world riding needs.
Mobile Tack Shopping
Albemarle County is our home, so there’s no charge for visits to local county farms. Invite your horsey friends for a fun, personalized shopping experience! We do charge a small mileage fee of $1 per mile for clients outside Albemarle, but we often waive it following a day of successful sales at your location.

Consignment & Retail
We consign English saddles and purchase well-maintained strap goods and clothing when space in the trailer allows. Unsure if an item is a good fit for our inventory? Just ask! We’re always happy to talk with clients.
Saddle Fittings Made Easy
Whether you’re shopping for a new saddle, welcoming a new horse, or coordinating with your saddle fitter, we’re happy to help. Schedule a fitting at your farm or ours. We’ll talk through options, answer questions, and set you up for comfort and success. No rush, zero pressure.
Unique Horse-Themed Events
Have fun with us! We’ll help you plan a unique horse-themed gathering at your location or ours. You can choose from a Leather Soirée, Bridle Shower, or Tacky Hour—a private gathering where you and your friends get to snack, drink, and shop our selection.

No charge for visits to your farm within Albemarle County—just invite your horsey friends for a fun, personalized shopping experience. (Small mileage fee for visits outside of Albemarle) Prefer to come to us? Visit us in North Garden, VA, by appointment.

We consign English saddles and buy well-maintained strap goods and clothing as long as room in the trailer allows. Please ensure items are clean and safe. We do not take dressage saddles at this time.
